London’s futures and options industry joins forces with the foreign exchange community to slog 35
miles plus on 4 routes to the City next May for children’s charities.

EUREX to sponsor Checkpoint Infrastructure and Finish Line Celebration
Futures for Kids (FFK) is pleased to announce plans for a greatly extended ‘Walk to Work’ to take
place on Friday May 18th 2012.
Encouraged by the success of the pioneering inaugural 2011 event which raised £48k for 3 FFK
charities the organisation, formed by London-based participants in the exchange-traded derivatives
industry in 2008, has been looking at ways to broaden participation from the financial community
and, of course, to greatly increase funds raised.
The key to the expansion plan is the addition of 3 routes to the 2011 Tunbridge Wells to City of
London route of 36.8 miles. FFK charities and supporters are currently mapping directions for
routes of similar length from Essex, Hertfordshire and Surrey. With an approximate 6am start all
participants are expected to join together in the City in the early evening for some well earned rest,
relaxation and celebration. Routes of approximately 20 and 10 miles will also be available for the
enthusiastic but less hardy individuals.
Unless they have been trading on their mobile telephones they won’t actually have been to work,
of course, but they will have done much to raise the profile of the caring side of the City and with a
target of 120 walkers raising £200k between them will have raised considerable funds for 4 charities
– Demelza, Hope HIV, Everychild and the Variety Club.
FFK has been supported from the outset by the Futures and Options Association (FOA), the trade
association which has supported the foundation from its inception and which was key to the
launch of the Walk to Work in 2011. In another important expansion move, bringing another major
City ‘community’ to the party, FFK is pleased to announce that they will be joining forces with ACI UK
(the London-based arm of the international FX Dealers Association) for the 2012 event.
FFK is also delighted to announce that Eurex, who showed great faith in backing the fledgling
venture in 2011, will continue their support as a Charter Sponsor by providing support for the all-
important Checkpoint Infrastructure and Finish Line celebration.
Individuals from a broad spectrum of City-based companies are already involved in the organisation
of the 2012 effort including executives from ACI UK, Contango Markets, Dewey Leboeuf, Eurex,
Fidessa, Flextrade, FOA, Futurestechs, LME, MF Global, NYSE Liffe, Options Industry Council, SEB
Futures, Profit and Loss magazine, RBC, Singapore Exchange, Sungard and Traiana.
Entry forms and further details will shortly be available at the FFK website http://
futuresforkids.org.uk/ and anyone wishing to participate as a walker, sponsor, supporter or donor
should contact David Setters at david@contango.co.uk
